Mark McGaffin

Public Relations

Mark McGaffin, MPC, is a seasoned communications professional with an accomplished track record of leading strategic campaigns and tactics that drive awareness and affect change. Some of Mark’s most fulfilling professional experiences have been advocating policies, programs and services for Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable citizens.

As a press secretary for the Department of Public Welfare (now Department of Human Services), Mark was the primary media spokesman for the administration’s initiatives to enhance the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities. Here, he gained a greater appreciation for the support services individuals with disabilities and their families need in their day-to-day lives. Mark now works for Goodwill Keystone Area leading the organization’s public relations efforts. He is passionate about Goodwill’s mission, and works to garner greater awareness of the organization’s programs and services that help people with disabilities and other barriers to independence build skills, find jobs and grow careers.

A member of Leadership Berks Class of 2020, Mark connected with Nancy Boyer at a class networking function and learned about Next Step Berks. Impressed by Nancy’s passion and vision, Mark is excited to be on the new board of directors, spearhead the organization’s public relations strategies and help guide the creation of a housing community that will allow adults with intellectual disabilities and seniors to live and thrive side-by-side.
