Brenda Boyer

Brenda Boyer, M.Ed, is a founding board member and secretary of Next Step Berks. Brenda has more than 20 years of experience as an educator, serving both as a teacher and building administrator at all K-12 levels.

Like other professionals who work with people on the autism spectrum, she is prepared to build on skills she has acquired to help the Next Step Berks Community be successful. Her experience makes her well-poised to participate in the grassroots efforts of Next Step Berks to build a community where adults with autism can make meaningful connections with and be supported by their community partners.

Brenda serves on various community boards, has led fundraising campaigns for local organizations and has logged many volunteer hours to support community-based efforts.  Additionally, Brenda previously served in business administration roles that has prepared her to support the management of Next Step Berks. Her proudest reason for serving the organization is her role as Vanessa Boyer’s aunt. Vanessa is an adult with autism, and it is Brenda’s dream that one day Vanessa will be able to live in an inclusive community where she feels respected for her talents and supported to achieve her potential.
